(A good photo of me!)The Summer of 1969 was my worst. As a young goatman growing up in North Texas, I wanted to get to know my neighbors. You know, I just wanted to meet and greet, say "hi", and hang out. Unfortunately, the people living around Lake Worth were not open to someone as different as I. I was hunted, shot at, and generally disparaged in the newspapers.
Since that horrible July, I have kept a low profile. While I still live around Lake Worth, I stay away from the roads. When I see fishermen on the lake, I lie in the grass until they pass by. I spend most of my days hiking in the beautiful wild area around the lake and enjoying the wildlife and peacefulness. In the summer, I usually swim to the islands and hang out there.
I am writing this blog in hopes of creating a new beginning. Now that four decades have passed since that eventful summer, I hope that the people in the area are more open minded to me and my living here.
I want this blog to be a history of my presence and a forum where I can connect with those who are willing to accept a goatman into their neighborhood. I encourage you to review the numerous articles and stories about me. I also invite everyone to add comments to this blog. Ask me any questions you wish. I look forward to our getting to know one another.

I was a little girl living in Ft. Worth during this time and I remember this. We used to drive by Lake Worth all the time and I would look for the Goatman...Glad your doing good...sorry about the misunderstanding.

What do you do about all of that poison ivy around Greer Island? Isn't it a heck of a nuisance?
Not only are Goatmen not allergic to poison ivy, it is a dietary staple. In fact, Goatmen have farmed poison ivy for thosands of years. Most of the poison ivy at Greer Island was planted and cultivated by my family for many generations.
There are many ways to prepare poison ivy - sasquatch salad, poison ivy casserole, duck with poison ivy sauce, etc. If you want to learn more about cooking with poison ivy, I would recommend a good cook book on the subject entitled "Poison Ivy - It's Not Just for Breakfast Anymore."

I've lived in that area. I always wanted to meet the Swamp People of New Orleans. I saw the articles up at the zoo, but they turned out to be from Europe. They live there still and had them in an IMAX show of Hurricane Katrina. Not the kinds of swamp creatures I had pictured. I recently found photos of sea serpents and a video of an ancient shark - http://vupload.facebook.com/group.php?gid=20014752871 - and it turns out the reason these kinds of animals go extinct is because they lack communication skills. So, what can I say, live life! :*

He's my wild second cousin. After he became famous, he moved to California and got caught up in the Hollywood lifestyle - drugs, parties, underage goats. He comes around when he needs money but other than that, he never calls. I think he's working at a car wash on Santa Monica Blvd as a chammy.

I did not believe in you till my grandfather showed me a book about you. When I was visting from Florida , I looked for you cause the skunk ape of Florida fame told me to tell you "Hi"!
Mr. Goatman, I live in Azle, which, as you may or may not know, is literally right down the road. I have been in Lake Worth many, MANY times. I have yet to see any "beautiful wild area"s or "peacefulness." I know the lake pretty well, and there isn't a whole lot of woods. How do you cope?

I love armadillo. The best way to cook them is just like you would a raccoon.

Mr. Goatman, a writer from Azle said he new Lake Worth well and hadn't seen a lot of woods or peaceful places.
Obviously he hasn't been to the Greer Island Nature Refuge or any of the area between Lake Worth and Eagle Mountain.
I worked summer help for the Fort Worth Park department in 1973 and believe me, there's lots of places for you, or anyone else, to hide/play in.
My Mother still lives near the lake. I visit often and hope to meet you one day. I used to have a statue of you which I carried with me in my travels courtesy of the Air Force. I told the 1969 story many times, from a human's viewpoint, of course.

I haven't seen ole Chupe since college. Best frat buddy you could ever have. I don't think I've seen anyone enjoy his hazing more than Chupe. He liked eating live goldfish and drinking cows' blood way too much.

A question, Mr. Goatman:
A good friend of mine and I make frequent trips to Springtown, on the weekends. On our way back to Dallas, we like to stop and go fishing under the 35W, right by Goat Island in view of the base. You know the spot. Anyhow, I had a question about what type of bait and/or lures to use to hook the big 'uns. I'm sure you are quite the angler and could offer a good suggestion. Also, do the jets ever keep you awake?

My daughters and I came upon a goatman in McKinney one evening. Scared us to death. White beard, goat hair, horns, very scary. Goatman is the only term that came to our minds. Now we find out there were earlier sightings of goatman. Very strange so far apart in years and miles, what could the explanation be?
I just heard about this the other day. I have to know if you are a real monster. If so then why don't you post a good picture of yourself not a distorted picture taken from 1969. I believe this is all a hoex. If you are real and no one has seen you, then how do you make your money? Where do you live? You obviously live where there is power if you are typing on a computer. You can read and right so you must have some education. Post a good picture, not a drawling or a distorted one. Thanks....
Being a mythological creature myself, a minotaur, it's nice to find another similar creature in the same area.....we're really few and far between. I'd enjoy meeting you for coffee someday and discuss things. I'll even come in my true form, and not the human form I'm in most of the time....will be a nice change of pace. Wondering if there's anywhere in the area you're in to just be myself.
All this Moon landing anniversary hype is frustrating. Where the West begins, 1969 was the summer of Goatman. I want to see comemmorations.
Monster Bash Observes 40th Anniversary of Lake Worth Monster Sightings
What: This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Lake Worth Monster sightings. Monster Bash promises to be a fun event for the entire family as Fort Worth residents celebrate a local legend and the habitat he calls home.
When: 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Oct. 3
Where: Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge, 9601 Fossil Ridge Road
Activities: Families can participate in hayrides, bison feeding, canoe tours, vendors, a festival area, monster-tracking, guided hikes and storytelling. The Skip Pullig Band will be performing their new album, including the song "The Goatman" which will be released to Texas radio stations in early September.
Admission: $4 for adults; $3 for seniors; $2 for ages 3-17; free for children under 3 and for Friends of the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge. Most activities will be free, but some will require a $5 fee.

I haven't read much on the internet yet about the Goatman, but i believe he moved north east of Lake Worth.
4 years ago this January, my wife saw what she can only describe as a goat-man. She was driving back from WalMart using rural 'back roads' in north west Sherman, TX.
I have been trying to talk her into writing down what she saw and putting it on the internet incase anyone else ever sees it. I wish we knew a scetch artist, because she got within 20 feet of it and can still describe a great deal of it. I could write down what she has told me, but this is her recollection and not mine.

how do you plan on surviving here now that fort worth has bought up the land around the lake and plans to turn it into sub divisions and parks? if i were you, i would leave. or you could live with me... whatever you prefer..

I agree about the picture. I grew up hearing the stories and read the book but the pics were always blurry. From what I could tell you were a handsome fella.
